United Ants : Marching to the Beats of Ibiza

The energy of Ibiza’s iconic United Ants music festival needed more than just a website—it needed a digital colony. I brought this to life through a 3D simulation where users, either through the UI or programmatically, can manipulate the movement and behavior of digital ants, representing festival-goers.

Collaborating with the International Magic team, I led the R&D, design, and website integration phases. The pathfinding system, based on Craig Reynolds' flocking algorithm, allows for dynamic behavior adjustments, precise control over the number of ants, and procedurally generated materials for each ant’s skin. This chaotic yet synchronized experience mirrors the festival’s vibe, allowing visitors to feel the pulse of the event as they interact with the digital ants, creating their own rhythm.
